April 12, 2026
I am sorry that it has been so long since my last update.  So much has happened.  We have had two off shore tournaments: Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn.  March 7, 2026 was our tournament on Toledo Bend Reservoir.  What a day prefishing was.  The lake was very, VERY rough and as I understand it, there were several boat issues that befell some of our team boats.  My boat started taking on water after a rogue wave from a passing boat hit us.  We had to beach the boat and change batteries for the bilge pump.  We emptied the boat of excess weight and the hero of the day, Robert RC Phelps took the boat and crashed into high waves narrowly making it back to the boat ramp.  And in the mean time I, along with my angler, waited on the shoreline for TPWD to arrive getting us back to the ramp. Feb Another boat was taking on water and a third boat broke a trolling motor shaft.  Luckily all boats survived and were able to fish the tournament.
Shout out to Robert Phelps and Sanders Pyle for making #2 place at this event. Also Sanders Pyle for Big Bass. What a great achievement.  Please go to the Off Shore page for results.
On March 28, 2026 at Sam Rayburn Reservoir, the weather was quite the opposite.  Pre-fishing was an easy going day but a weather front moved in and fishing day was pretty rough for the first part of the day.  Our fishing wasn’t what we had hoped for.
With that, we had two teams that have qualified for Regionals on Lake Conroe which is on May 2, 2026.  See the Off Shore page for results.
In other news we had our final On Shore tournament on February 21, 2026.  That was quite the adventure.  The ReelTime app goes down and wreaks havoc on scoring.  I would like to extend my apologies for this fiasco and hope that glitches like this do not extend into next season.  The app received a facelift and looks a bit different.
I would also like to express sincere gratitude to Long Acres Ranch for taking us in for a third consecutive fishing event.
Were are hosting our championship event on April 18, 2026 in College Station at Millican Reserve.  Millican Reserve has also gone to great lengths to to accommodate us due to the weather issues and rescheduling.

We would like to start out by thanking JD Villasenor and Matthew for taking the extra effort to keep this club going.  They were in talks with Big Bass Tour for possible sponsorship next year.  In addition they heard our plight for the need of new coolers for the team.  Not only did they donate two coolers. They donated two Yeti coolers on wheels.  But it doesn’t end there.  They donated hundreds of lures and baits, some prepackaged.  All brand spanking new.  Well, we will not be holding on to this stuff, except the coolers.  We will be handing out and using these items for door prizes at the next tournament.  Which leads me to the next bit of news.
We have had a roller coaster of weather these last couple of months and had to make drastic changes on the fly.  I would like to personally apologize for these logistical issues.  However, it will work out to the benefit of the student anglers.  It is unprecedented that we have 3 tournaments back to back to back at the same venue.  Long Acres Ranch and Millican Reserve have been so wonderful with allowing us to schedule, re-schedule and re-re-schedule these last two events.  Anglers, you won’t be disappointed. That being said, Final Stop, will be Stop 4 at Long Acres Ranch as scheduled on February 24, 2026 with no changes to lines in (8am) to lines out (10:30 am).   Championship will be held at Millican Reserve on April 18, 2026 with no changes to lines in (8am) to lines out (10:30 am).  We will hand out trophies and awards at the team banquet (date TBD).
As always, email us those photos of your angler practicing in our TWHSBFT swag and if they are using some of our sponsor gear let us know.  We want to get that to our sponsors.

December 1, 2025
Due to the inclement weather and the low water levels at The James B. Harrison Foundation, the December 6th Inshore Tournament will be held at Long Acres Ranch.  They have been kind enough to open the gates for us, again.  This is a barbless tournament.  Lines in at 8am, Lines out at 10:30am with blind period beginning at 10:10am.

Blind Squirrel Baits is a locally owned store in Conroe, Texas.  They have generously donated some product for our Offshore team to test out.  They have soft and hard plastic baits and also customize baits to what the customer wants.  Check them out and help support locally owned business.

October 11, 2025

Well, Lake Limestone 2025 is in the books.  What a wonderful day for fishing too.  The weather was great and we had a lot of fish caught.  There were 113 boats competing in this tournament.  There were some big bags caught and some big fish too.  We had six teams of nine catch fish for TWHSBFT, this did not include CP.  THSBA gave the top 16 teams, prizes and scholarships.  We had 2 teams in the top 16, Robert Phelps*/Sanders Pyle and Sawyer Molloy/Keon Uresti.  RP*/SP weighed in 5 fish for 16.67 lbs with a big fish of 4.76 lbs. SM/KU weighed in 5 fish for 10.54 lbs with no big fish weighed.
This was my first experience with renting a boat to fish.  We used our BBR sponsor to rent the boat.  If you rent a boat, please, before you accept delivery, do an equipment check, safety check registration check and insurance check.  This is something that we thought would not be an issue but things got missed.  We got everything taken care of in the nick of time.  I say this because if the angler team places “above the money line”, boat checks are done as well as polygraph for the boat captain.  Missing or non-functional equipment could result in DQ.  Don’t let this happen to you.  Lots of times people overlook the fire extinguisher.  These things can go bad at random or for whatever reason-insert shoulder shrug here.
Being in the top 5, for this angler dad, was an exciting experience.
I would like everyone to remember that this is TEAM effort here in so many ways.  Whether it’s the two anglers on the boat or all of the anglers in the club.  Anglers are competing for prizes and scholarships.  But don’t lose sight of the fact that all of the fish caught for the club get totaled up for the school placement in THSBA.  The more anglers we have fishing the better.  If anyone needs help with tutoring/grades please reach out to the team captains for assistance.  Let’s do everything that we can to keep as many of our TEAM members as possible, on the water.  Let’s all be good TEAM members.
Our TEAM results are posted in the Offshore portion and photos are in the gallery.  If you have photos that need to or want to have added for this tournament, let us know.
I would like to take a moment to thank Melissa Hanley for getting the equipment to and from the weigh-in.  Also, for picking up the food for these hungry anglers.

If there are any issues/questions/comments, please feel free to reach out.

Until Lake Houston, November 8, 2025
Robert

Beckendorff Farms Inshore Tournament
Well, everyone, it was a pretty successful tournament.  At least the rain held off until it was over.  I want to thank all the volunteers that helped weigh fish today. I apologize for the great App Issue of 2025.  This has never happened before, that I know of. I promise tournament #2 should not have these issues.  Also, I have repaired the two extra scales that we were missing today.

Thank You:
Thank you to all the ladies that helped Kendra out at the tent with the check-ins, merchandise, and team wears:
Thank you Mrs. Bailey for bringing the snacks and coolers.
Thank you Mrs. Dupree and Mrs. Fishback for helping at the merchandise table.
Thank you Mrs. Mrs. Harris for helping with check-ins.

Extra:

No one has done this in the past, so I am going to address it.  We had some issues today with some anglers being a little obnoxious and a bit rude to some parents and staff.  Let's try to treat others with respect.  I know kids will be kids but these are not the venues for that type of behavior.

ON TO FISHING:
As some of you know, we had 101 fish caught for a total weight of 82.246 lbs.  I will be going over the sheets to triple check the numbers.

Photos:
If you have any photos that you took and wish to share, please send them.

Please email us with any questions/comments/concerns.

Until next time,
Robert
